
Family Affair is an American sitcom that aired on CBS from September 12, 1966 to September 9, 1971. The series explored the trials of well-to-do civil engineer and bachelor Bill Davis as he attempted to raise his brother's orphaned children in his luxury New York City apartment. Davis' traditional English gentleman's gentleman, Mr. Giles French, also had adjustments to make as he became saddled with the responsibility of caring for 15-year-old Cissy and the 6-year-old twins, Jody and Buffy. The show ran for 138 episodes. Family Affair was created and produced by Don Fedderson, also known for My Three Sons and The Millionaire.





Bill Davis is ambivalent about taking on the responsibility of raising his niece Buffy after the death of his brother. After suggesting she attend boarding school in Switzerland, she runs away. Giles French, the Davis butler, brings her back.
Returning from a shopping excursion with the twins, French meets Miss Faversham who invites him to a poetry reading that afternoon.
Buffy and her brother Jody both create a friend in their fantasy, an imaginary invisible bear named Arthur, with whom they dream and live constantly.
An old girfriend of Uncle Bill, whom everyone calls "Freddie," comes to visit him. She tells the children stories of his uncle's youth.
A boy, who must wear a prosthetic leg, comes to stay in the Davises household, since he is the son of a friend of Uncle Bill's. Children try by all means to win the friendship of the new roommate.
A family reunion in Indiana finds Bill battling nostalgia and Aunt Fran's determination to have the children remain permanently in her home.
An ex-friend, Harv, fresh out of prison, asks Bill for a job. The twins are wary of Harv, but Cissy believes she can help him readjust to civilian life.
Cissy moves into an apartment to have independence but finds new problems without her family.
When Jody is accused of breaking a window, Uncle Bill believes him even though the school doesn't.
Cissy and Gregg feel pressured to get married when their others friends do.
The Davises bring in a minicircus to cheer up Buffy, who's in bed with a broken leg. But try as they will, nothing turns the trick
Bill asks a doctor to help Buffy's pal who is disabled. A deaf-mute girl, whose mother refuses lo send her to school, is befriended by the twins.
Experts advise Bill to separate the twins. (Last show of the series.)
