Arthur attends an Italian wedding as guest of honour, and when Terry is held hostage at a launderette, the conman decides to sell the story to the media.
Terry agrees to protect an ex-convict who is being targeted by former partners wanting a share of money stolen during a bank heist. Meanwhile, Arthur resorts to devious tactics to obtain the location of the stashed loot first.
The prospect of a police reward persuades Arthur to go on the trail of a petty criminal who has stolen a suitcase crammed with money. However, it transpires a gang of international counterfeiters is also after the cash.
Terry acts as the bodyguard for a Lebanese businessman and diplomat. However, relationships between the two are strained and when their safe house is raided by gunmen, Terry's opinion of his charge reaches a new depth.
When Dave's relief manager lets him down at short notice, he asks Terry to step into the breach and run the Winchester Club for him. However, concerns mount for both Terry and Arthur when the landlord fails to return as planned - especially as the club's licence is due for imminent renewal.
Arthur becomes involved with a gambler, whose sudden death leaves the dodgy car dealer £2,000 worse off. Meanwhile, Terry helps his old flame Sylvie leave her abusive husband.
A tape implicating two senior police officers in a criminal conspiracy is mistakenly delivered to Daley Videos, and Arthur and Terry find themselves placed in contact with its owner - a local major crime boss.
Arthur panics when he learns that there has been a robbery of safety deposit boxes in the City, so places all his savings in the ancient safe at the lock-up. Unfortunately, they soon catch the eye of an old acquaintance from Marbella.
Arthur decides he wants to retire and Terry helps him get out of a deal with a dubious consortium of Masonic property developers.
