
While on a mission, American astronaut Captain Tony Nelson is forced to make an emergency landing that will forever change his life. On a deserted South Pacific island, Captain Nelson happens upon a bottle containing a beautiful two-thousand-year-old female genie named Jeannie. Rescuing her from the bottle nets Tony the requisite three wishes, and then some, when Jeannie pledges total devotion to her new "master".


Astronaut Captain Nelson crash lands on an island where he discovers a Genie (Jeannie) in a bottle. He sets her free as a thank you for saving him but she follows him home to Coco Beach and insists on serving him.
Work forces Tony to break a promise with Jeannie. His duties include a stay on a Yacht. Jeannie confronts him onboard then disappears, leaving onlookers to conclude that Tony threw her overboard in a fit of temper.
Anthony is trying to make fresh drinkable water out of salt water, but with no luck. Genie tells him her great grandfather has a formula to make it happen, and conjures him here to do the deal with Captain Anthony.
Genie has decided to marry Roger, but when he is reluctant, she decides to marry his friend in order to make Roger jealous. Genie's mom is helping her with her plan.
When Maj. Nelson mentions he doesn't have enough time, Jeannie makes every day Sunday.
Maj. Healey pleads Tony to let Jeannie grant him at least one wish, but when he gets the chance, he blows it and things go unplanned. To top it off, Dr. Bellows gets entangled in it and after a few mishaps with Gen. Peterson ends up being transferred to Iceland, but Jeannie steps in to help remedy that situation.
Tony makes a bet with Roger that Jeannie would never fall for another man, this leads to Tony disguising himself as a British officer.
A family of hillbillies capture Tony and Roger when their secret spaceship falls to the ground. The locals belive they're Martians.
Tony gets in trouble when he takes a box of sweets to the base. Colonel Finch eats them and becomes a strong woman who can lift any weight. Now she wants the formula of those sweets.
A hurricane traps Tony, Jeannie, Roger and Dr. Bellows overnight in the Nelsons' house. Tony is faced with the prospect of Dr. Bellows finally learning the truth about Jeannie's magic powers.
Jeannie and Tony's cousin want to make Tony the chili king even though NASA forbids its astronauts to make commercial endorsements.
