At the end of the Second World War, an American colonel entered Hitler's bunker and cut a blood-soaked swatch of material from the couch where the tyrant shot himself. A team of scientists led by geneticist Professor Turi King and historian Dr Alex J Kay have extracted DNA from the fabric to investigate whether, as was suggested at the time, Hitler had a Jewish relative and if he had ADHD and autism.
