Cade travels to a small town in Wyoming that is being terrorized by a motorcycle gang called The Apostles.Quatrain 54, Century 7: "Iron horses blaze a vengeful trail / The first of many to follow / Their method must be chartered / Or liberty will fall".
Cade is led to a group of empaths with the ability to influence the thoughts of others. While investigating, he begins to realize the group is under the covert control of a murderous alien.Quatrain 23, Century 3: "The two-sighted will meet death in sleep / Purged from the nightmare of a hidden enemy / Barricades protect spurious sleep / And the spectre is lanced with a common blade".
After nearly dying in a hit and run accident, a woman begins spouting quatrains every time she sees a bright light.Quatrain 4, Century 9: "She will rise from the dead with words of fortune on her lips / For one in need of purpose / A dispatch to the twice blessed man".

When Cade is hired to steal an item, it becomes a life and death fight for survival.Quatrain 29, century 4: "The weapon will fall upon cities unless thieves deliver humanity from woe / The enemy of triumph is intellect / For faculties failure requires sense anew".
When a losing small town high school football team is suddenly vying for the state championship, Cade poses as a college football recruiter to investigate.Quatrain 19, Century 11: Where the good river runs north, young fortunes are reversed in mock battle / Enslavement takes myriad forms / The key to them all is control".

The death of a murderer and a Nostradamus quatrain lead Cade and Eddie to an amusement park in search of another pocket dimension.Quatrain 32, century 1: "Through a threshold of light the savage land spits youth most murderous / Amid machines that amuse / Comes a reckoning for the man twice blessed".
Cade investigates a series of disappearances of young women with help from a romantic fiction writer whose sister is the latest to vanish.Quatrain 21, Century 8: "On the fields of revolution / Where England's traitor king runneth / Passion's dew is stolen from opulence / The undercroft keeps the salve of enemy wounds".
Cade finds himself in a secret government facility where he is told his mission to fight the Gua is being observed. Suspecting a hoax, he attempts to reveal the Gua in the facility.
An alien experiment involving bare knuckle fighters draws Cade Foster and an old prison friend to enter a boxing competition.Quatrain 63, Century 9: "In a city risen from blue grey ash, gladiators vie for blood stained glory / The fabric of man undergoes lethal alchemy / A patron of his own destruction".
Joshua is put on trial and must defend himself against charges that he is a human sympathizer and a traitor to the Gua.
Foster poses as a gunman to probe the Gua infiltration of organized crime.Quatrain 46, Century 9: "In the City of Fountains, blood spills between families of disrepute / Seek an alliance with the steed / As the enemy makes ready for battle".
Cade Foster wakes up in a dirty alley and soon discovers strange posters that advertise Human-Gua cooperation.
Foster and Eddie take over a TV station at gunpoint to get the message out to the world about the alien invasion.
Jordan Radcliffe joins Cade and Eddie to fight the aliens. The Gua make a clone of Cade.Quatrain 12, Century 4: "The Brodde Nation will swiftly rise on the fortnight of its own prophesy / The scholar who solves the great riddle points the way to the blood stained globe".
Raven Nation is a resistance group that fashions themselves after the ethos of Cade Foster and his significance as a key in defeating the Gua. Jordan Radcliffe becomes Cade's most trusted ally within the group.Quatrain 45, Century 10: "The man twice blessed shall seek adherents / A dispatch soars on wings of lightning / A path to the catacombs brings stratagem into question".
While investigating a biological research facility, Foster is exposed to a lethal airborne virus and must risk his life in order to prevent the virus from spreading.Quatrain 77, Century 9: "In the arsenal of an Emerald City, the smallest of creation becomes great / Horses four will trumpet the end, born on a devil's breath".
Foster discovers Joshua locked away on a quantum pocket where he is forced to attempt the same task over and over again as punishment for helping Foster.Quatrain 83, Century 7: "The traitor sits in a hidden world, waiting for the man twice blessed / Joined in desperate moments to push the rock over the peak of time".
Foster investigates an alien experiment that will allow the Gua to transfer their consciousness without having to use husks.Quatrain 73, Century 6: "A daughter of war meets the gallows when darkness spirit takes flight / In the land of the Eye of the Stag, savior and devil comes together as one".
Foster and Jordan go undercover in a Chicago police station in order to find documents that allegedly prove Cade Foster's innocence in his wife's murder.Quatrain 77, Century 9: "Redemption is offered by a woman of scarlet tor the twice blessed to seek out / Enter the belly of the beast and become one".
Eddie checks into a mental asylum in the hope of rescuing a judge who shares the institution with other people who believe that the Earth is being overrun by aliens.Quatrain 92, Century 8: "The mighty shall be laid low, impaled on a fine honed sword of truth / A voice of justice is stilled as nightmares take earthly form".
A Gua assassin is sent out to kill what appear to be random victims. But with Joshua observing events, Foster is determined to find out the truth behind the incidents.Quatrain 72, Century 5: "Hallowed eyes burned through the line to the fifth in colonies of old / Malevolence awaits a perfect vision as four makes five for apocalypse".
One of the Raven Nation operatives disappears near the small town of Hope. When Jordan and Foster investigate, they discover that the townspeople are hiding a terrible secret.Quatrain 28, Century 3: "Tainted streams flow into fields of stone as the vanguard rises from hope / On a path of least obstruction, the evil one is crowned".
When Mabus dissolves the Gua Assembly, his military leaders are concerned that he is launching the second wave too early. They hatch a plan to assassinate him, with the help of Cade Foster.
Foster and Jordan are saved from a Gua bomb by an email sent to Eddie by an ill ten year old girl. Jordan discovers that Mabus has made a psychic connection to the girl.Quatrain 15, Century 5. "The message precedes the messenger, a sudden link to darkness. Betwixt the glare and the chasm, the child is freed with shadows behind."
Eddie and Jordan join an archaeology dig looking for Thor's Hammer and discover a Gua presence looking for the powerful weapon, which claims Foster as its first victim.Quatrain 17, Century 4. "Through the ancient north it shall pass, ship to ship the power of powers. All strength to those who unearth it, joined together will earth itself be consumed."
After Foster experiences a series of nightmares, he visits a hypnotherapist friendly to the Raven Nation and is led back into a childhood he has forgotten, including a suppressed encounter with the Gua.Quatrain 22, Century 4. "When twice three years and twice again, find secret skill in darkest hour. 'Tween Blessed and Cursed a Third will come, or world's consumed in battle's fire."
Jordan is ambushed by the Gua at the Radcliffe Foundation annual ball, where she learns the shocking truth about her late father's demise.Quatrain 11, Century 9. "Nobles gather on a midsummer's eve and the Raven grasps the curse of legacy. / Look to the traitor's haven as the beast prepares for Apocalypse."
Foster is injected with Gua DNA and, as the process of transformation progresses, Jordan and Eddie face the agonizing prospect of having to kill Foster in order to save the planet.
Foster must stop the aliens from destroying the world's computer systems and Mabus from occupying human bodies, including his new love's.Quatrain 41, Century 4. "At the inception of the millennium, machines of the new age deliver devastation in war / From a throne under thirteen faceless warriors, the invader king wields power."
Foster informs the Generals of the Raven Nation that Mabus is using Jordan Radcliffe's body as a host.Quatrain 26, Century 9: "As the Apocalypse draws near the adherents are summoned / Down to the catacombs they flee, pursued by an enemy none can see".
Victory for the Gua seems close, as Mabus capotures Foster. Could an extraterrestrial revelation free Jordan and destroy Mabus?
An Omega quatraine points Foster and Eddie towards a magnetic signal in the mountains. Suddenly a GUA ship crashes nearby. Joshua brought the ship down and it begins a race to find a powerful GUA warhead from the crash.Omega Quatrain 2. "In the west near the rock mount, a lodestone pulls opposing sides closer / The fallen signals war and guidance for the coming maelstrom."
Foster encounters Xevallah, the mysterious stranger who rescued him from the Gua when he was a child. Xevellah teaches Foster the essential wisdom of forgiveness and prepares him for the final battle with the Gua.Quatrain 22, Century 4: "When twice three years and twice again / Find secret skill in darkest hour / 'Tween blessed and cursed a third will come / Or world's consumed in battle's fire".
Foster travels to the future to locate the Hammer, a Gua weapon that has the power to determine the fate of humankind. But he discovers that the Resistance has crumbled and his counterpart has lost hope.Fourth and final Omega Quatrain: "Into the void must go the twice blessed man / Seek the hammer, as the seeker has sought before / In the courage to end, find the beginning, or death and darkness befall mankind."
Mabus attempts to control the minds of Foster, Eddie, Jordan and Joshua in order to fulfill the requirements necessary to initiate the Second Wave.Fifth Omega Quatrain: "As the Second Wave is nigh / Four must be chained strong as one / Hammer can smite victory / If honor is granted to Xevallah".
